Lawrence “Ed” O’Hara, born in Covington, Kentucky on September 15, 1942, son of the late Lawrence and Luvenia (Ballenger) O’Hara, passed away in his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of eighty-two.
Ed served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and was stationed in Thailand. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, where he was involved with the Knights of Columbus. Ed worked as a cable splicer with Century Telephone Company. He enjoyed watching his beloved Kentucky Wildcats, as well as the New Orlean Saints, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Mary Lou O’Hara; siblings, Robert O’Hara, and Mary Ann O’Hara Cook.
Survivors are his wife, Regina O’Hara; children, James O’Hara (Angela), and Ramona Fischer (Charles); sister, Betty Jo O’Hara; grandchildren, Reece and Olive O’Hara, Jon Cameron and Braeden Fischer.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 10 a.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins in the funeral home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., with a Celebration of Life at 4 p.m., followed by the rosary at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
