Leeward Roger

Leeward Roger, 64, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Leeward was retired from retail maintenance at the mall in Lake Charles. He also worked as a tug boat deck hand for many years. Leeward was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree Council 5755 and 4th degree Council 2087and was a grand knight for two terms. Leeward was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake. He was head of the pro life rosary group at the KC hall for 10 years. Leeward is survived by his wife, Paula Hebert Roger; his children, Craig Roger, Leona Dauth and husband John, Samantha Roger and Gina Roger; his sister, Lorraine Deel; his brothers, Sydney Roger and Steve Roger and wife Becky; his mom, Beatrice Roger; nine grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Roger and one brother, Cleveland Roger. Service for Leeward will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2 pm at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur from 5-9 pm with a cursillo rosary at 6 pm and an ACTS rosary to follow. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 am until it's time to proceed to the church at 1:30 pm.
