Lena Sonnier Fee went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2017 at Rosewood Nursing Home in Lake Charles, LA.
Lena was born November 11, 1928 to Pierre A.B. And Maude Sonnier in Hayes, LA. Lena married WWII veteran, Avon Fee, on April 26, 1947. Avon and Lena lived several places in their nearly seventy years together until they settled in DeRidder, LA in 1968. Lena was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA where she served as a Eucharistic Adorer for several years. Lena was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a fantastic cook and generous soul. Even the UPS delivery man could count on a delicious meal when delivering to the Fee house. Lena's grandchildren were the light of her life. She spoiled them in many ways, most predominantly by making sure she always cooked their favorite dishes. A Sunday dinner at Mawmaw's house looked more like a Thanksgiving feast than lunch.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre A.B and Maude Sonnier; her brother Raymond Sonnier; two sisters Anna Grace LaCombe and Leona Sonnier; niece Tammy Chaumont, and nephew Dwight LaCombe.
Lena is survived by her husband, Avon Fee; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Jesse Harrell; granddaughter, Jessica Harrell, grandson, Cullen Harrell; sisters, Leila Mae (Kate) Stephens and Henrietta Bertrand and several nieces and nephews.
