Lena Thibodeaux

Lena M. Thibodeaux, born in Church Point on August 10, 1927, daughter of the late Arnold and Hermanie (Lyons) Daigle, passed away in her daughter’s residence on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at age 94.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Laurent Thibodeaux, siblings, Leland Daigle, Ethel Thibodeaux, and Eura Pugh.
Lena is survived by her children, Theresa Thibodeaux Foreman (David), Mervin Thibodeaux, and Scott Thibodeaux; sisters, Joyce Koonce, and Dorothy Martzall; companion, Floyd Fontenot; grandchildren, Adrienne, Sheryl, Denise, Sherry, John, and Nancy; 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren, and her beloved pet, Molly.
She was active with the Iowa Senior Center and was Mardi Gras Queen. Lena was a member of the Cajun French Music Association and loved to dance.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11 a.m. Rev. Anthony Fontenot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin in the church at 9 a.m. until the time of rosary at 10:30 a.m.
