Leo Francis LaRocque, 91, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. LaRocque was born in Charlevoix, MI and as a young boy, moved to Lake Charles where he lived the next eighty years. He served the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He later began working at the Port for the Lake Charles Stevedores where he was a Crain Operator for thirty-three years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing any time and body of water he came across. Mr. LaRocque will be remembered for many things: his dry sense of humor, jokes and countless pranks; his stern personality, tough love and countless teachings and his kind heart and always open door to family. He will be most remembered as a hard worker, a great provider and for his love and devotion to his bride of sixty-one years, having married her at 21 and raised her four children as his own. A man of Christ, he was a member of his late brother’s church, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lake Charles
He leaves to honor his memory, stepson, Ted Holland (Elaine) of Bentonville, AR; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren and brother, Louis LaRocque of Moss Bluff.
