Leola Mary Guillory

Leola Mary Guillory, 78, died Thursday, January 12, 2017, in her residence, following a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Mrs. Guillory was the daughter of Preston and Irene Fontenot Guillory. She was a bus driver for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for 26 years. She loved dancing, gardening, sewing, and visiting with family and friends. She was a faithful member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where she played the organ for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are four sons, Lee Emmett Schlesinger and wife Bridget of Lake Charles, Preston James Schlesinger of New Orleans, and Ralph Wayne Schlesinger and John Christopher Arceneaux, both of Lake Charles; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two brothers, Doris and Phillip Guillory of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Walter Guillory, and three sisters, Delores Landry, Lorena Guillory and Laura Brown.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 12:00 p.m.
