LeRoy Otto DeReese, Jr., born January 26, 1954 in Bay City, Texas, passed away in his residence Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the age of 64.
LeRoy was the son of the late LeRoy Otto DeReese, Sr. and Bonnie Hughes DeReese. He was a graduate of Iowa High School, class of 1973 and excelled at all high school sports. LeRoy was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. LeRoy was a high school football, basketball and baseball official for 25 years. He was a greens superintendent for Pine Shadows Golf Center for 25 years and later worked at Mallard Cove.
LeRoy is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorinda Cooper DeReese; son, Blake DeReese (Kellie), daughter, Mandi DeReese Mire (Eric); step-son, Travis McNabb (Kerri); step-daughters, Trista and Hanna McNabb; siblings, Terry DeReese (Amanda), Vicky and Renee DeReese; 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Louviere officiating. Burial will follow in Pinehill Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 11a.m.
