It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Marie Chargois, who left us too soon on March 3, 2026, just days shy of her 73rd birthday. Born on March 11, 1953, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Linda was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.Linda will be remembered for her love of cooking, shopping, and dining out, often inviting family and friends to gather around her table. She found joy in sitting on her back porch, listening to music, and cheering on her favorite football teams-the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. An avid fan of soap operas, she also cherished her quiet moments in front of the television. Most importantly, Linda adored her family, especially her great-grandson, Bentlee Carlin, whom she lovingly raised as her own son. She followed him with unwavering support in all his endeavors.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Tonya Freeman (Jason), and Becky Andrus, her dear fiancé Doug Smith, and her loving family of 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She also leaves behind her brother David Suarez (Felicia), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Louella Suarez, her husbands, Steve Leblanc and Marvin Chargois, her beloved daughter Melissa Mull, sons John, Michael, and Guy Leblanc, and siblings Tina and Ronald Suarez (Jed). Their love for her and their memories will always remain a part of the fabric of her life.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Hospice, and to Tonya, Rebecca, and Dannion, for their compassionate care and support during this challenging time.
