Linda Marie Miller Conner, formerly of Cameron, then Creole, left this world in her new home in Lake Charles, Thursday March 13, 2025.
Linda was a loving wife to her husband for 54 years, Bobby; a wonderful mother to her children, Todd (Michelle) and Lynsi (Patrick); a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, Kallan, Ali, and John Conner, and Lily, Conner, and Davis Bellene; and a grateful sister to Cheryl Murphy.
Where does one begin to pay proper tribute and respect to Linda's life? Anyone who knew her knows that she loved company, entertaining and cooking. She loved playing Pokeno, visiting and lunching with her girlfriends. Her Christmas spread would be the envy of any of these TV chefs. What's your craving...pancakes, corn soup, gumbo, spaghetti, seafood and don't even get started on desserts??? She could, would and happily did it all. And yes, she ate, as well. She could sit for hours cleaning, eating and saving crab meat.
Linda loved traveling with Bobby. So many trips throughout the US and Canada over the years with him and friends. Unfortunately, twice returning to Cameron's devastation after major hurricanes.
Funerals are a somber occasion. Yes, we all mourn her passing. Cry, if you will, but Linda would rather more laughter than tears; remembering the great times we've shared. Through years of fighting cancer, without complaint and never giving up; she lived day by day in thanksgiving and often saying "I don't want to die from cancer, just send me a heart attack!" Well, Linda, you got your wish, our loss, but your heavenly gain.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Miller; mother, Vera Miller; father-in-law, John Conner and mother in law, Eula Conner; and brothers in law, John Raymond Conner and Ronald Murphy.
