Linda F. Anderson

Linda Frances Anderson, 67, died on June 11, 2017 with family and friends at her side in her home in Lake Charles, Louisiana following a lengthy illness.

 

She was born November 27, 1949 in Houston, Texas to James Robertson and Marianne Anderson. Linda relocated to Louisiana in October 2016. She had resided in the Washington D.C. metro area since 1967 calling Kensington, Maryland her home for the last 25 years.

 

She is survived by her siblings: Sharon Anderson of Bryan, Texas; Robin Conrad and husband Frank of Moss Bluff; Janet Anderson of League City, Texas; and James R. Anderson and wife Karen of Sugarland Texas. Also surviving are her nephew Mark Gray and wife Natalie of Moss Bluff; nephew Cameron Anderson of Sugarland Texas; grandnieces Kayla Gray of Lake Charles; Makayla Breaux of Sulphur; Paiten Gray of Moss Bluff; Claire Conrad and Christina Watson of Sulphur; and many extended family members in the Lake Charles area. Linda is also survived by her husband Frank Wilson of St Mary’s Georgia; stepdaughters Elizabeth Reichbart and husband Joel and grandchildren Sam, Maddie and Ben of New Jersey and Kate Wilson and grandchildren Mal, Samaya, and Nassir of North Carolina.

 

Linda graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Georgetown University.   She worked for the federal government for more than 30 years most recently with the National Institutes of Health in the communications office of the National Cancer Institute and continuing after retirement as a private contractor. She was a member of several informal beach and bridge clubs, played on USTA ranked teams (later officiating), and was a long time member of the Ski Club of Washington D.C. and Same Time Next Year Club.   She was an avid supporter of the Shakespeare Theatre, the National Symphony Orchestra, the White House Christmas decorating group, Hillwood Estate & Museum, and Brookside Botanical Gardens.   Linda enjoyed an active life full of good friends and good times.

  

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the directors, nurses, and staff of The Verandah, The Carriage House, Home Instead Senior Care, Evangeline Home Health, and Heart of Hospice for helping Linda spend her last months surrounded by the good nature and grace that were her signature.

 

Linda was laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA alongside her parents.
