Linda LaBauve McElveen

July 8, 1939 — May 19, 2026

Linda LaBauve McElveen, 86, was united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Linda was born on July 8, 1939, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, to her loving parents, Felix and Laura LaBauve. The LaBauve family later moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana, where Linda attended Marion High School and graduated with honors in 1958.

Following high school, Linda attended McNeese State University, where she met the love of her life, Wayne F. McElveen. Wayne and Linda were married on October 22,1961, and together they shared 64 beautiful and memorable years of marriage.

Early in her career, Linda worked for the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court’s Office for many years before leaving to pursue her passion for interior design. Her natural talent and eye for beauty served her well, and she found great joy in helping clients throughout Calcasieu Parish designing and decorating their homes.

Linda and Wayne loved to travel and were blessed to visit many wonderful and memorable places together. Above all else, Linda cherished time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. She also loved to cook, a gift she learned from her mother and shared generously with those she loved. Her family and friends will always remember the meals she lovingly prepared for holidays, birthdays, weekends, and family gatherings.

Linda is survived by her siblings, Marjorie and Donald; her children, Wayne McElveen II and his wife, Susan, David McElveen and his wife, Alicia, and Richard McElveen; her grandchildren, Emily Beville and her husband, Logan, Conner McElveen, Macy Karam and her husband, Jordan, Mia McElveen, Olivia McElveen, and Skylar McElveen; and her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Breaux.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne F. McElveen; her parents, Felix and Laura LaBauve; and her siblings, Jimmy, Adrienne, and Daniel.

Linda’s life was marked by faith, love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
