Linda Gail O'Pry Fontenot

Linda Gail O’Pry Fontenot, born in Church Point on December 8, 1947, daughter of the late Will O’Pry and Mary Wilma Matte Oaks, passed away in Lake Charles on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the age of seventy-seven.

Linda was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine. She enjoyed baking for the church bazaars. Linda was an excellent cook, gardener, seamstress. and had an interest in any type of crafting. She and her late husband, Robert, operated Fontenot Farms.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Fontenot, and sister, Barbara Leggett.

Survivors are her loving and devoted companion of thirty-four years, Everette Guidry; sister, Roxie Oaks Guidry; nieces and nephew, Sarah Guidry O’Pry (Chase), Lainey Guidry Tejeda (Rafael), Arron Dugas (Bridget); and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Monday, December 16, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation begins Monday at 9 a.m. with a rosary recited at 12:30 p.m.
