It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Darlene Tims, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on October 20, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on May 22, 1953, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Linda lived her life with an abundance of love and dedication to her family and community.
Linda dedicated her professional life as a tax preparer at H & R Block, where her warmth and approachability made her a cherished figure among her clients and colleagues. A devoted member of the Iowa First United Methodist Church, she found joy in her faith and service to others.
In 1975, Linda married her loving husband, Jackie Tims. Together, they created a joyful home filled with laughter and love. Linda treasured her role as a mother to her children, Carl Alexander Tims (Theresa) and Ranell Tims (John), and embraced her cherished position as a grandmother to Lucy Vedros (Colin), Callie Tims, Cassidy Tims, Anna Allemang, Jesse Allemang, Cason Tims, Byron Woods, Jayden Sanchez (Nathan), Ashlyn Woods, and Morgan Wrhel (Kai). She was a true "people person," and her infectious spirit lit up any room she entered.
Linda had many passions, including her love for cruising, sewing, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She had a deep affection for animals, which reflected her kind-hearted nature and compassionate spirit.
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Highland Memory Gardens. Following her wishes, her disposition will be through cremation, with her ashes returning to the rich soil of Lake Charles, where she held so many beautiful memories.
Linda Darlene Tims will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Susan Hillebrandt and Carl Hillebrandt; her sister, Jennifer Hillebrandt.
