Lois Margaret Romaire Bergeron returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 25, 2026. A native of Baldwin, LA, Mrs. Bergeron was born on February 21, 1930 and moved to Morgan City at an early age. There she married Alceide J. Bergeron (AJ) and raised seven children. The family transferred to Lake Charles, LA in 1971.

Mrs. Bergeron loved all types of music, poetry, attending local theater productions and visiting the latest exhibitions at Historic City Hall. She held membership in the Catholic Daughters of America, Calcasieu Parish Genealogy Society, Ladies Altar Society of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and hosted Come Lord Jesus Prayer Group for many years.

She leaves behind her devoted children: Lois Marie Cook (Jim), David (Patricia), Gregory (Inge), Karen Brown, Carol Harless (Mitch), Alison Fontenot (Mark) and Alceide Joseph III (Alecia); a sister, Vivian Jeanmard (Jim), 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Survivors also include a brother-of-her-heart, William J. Talbot II (Gwen), and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Bergeron McGlasson (Jim) and Georgina Bergeron as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bergeron was preceded in death by her husband, Alceide Joseph II (AJ); parents, Vivian and Ferris Romaire, Sr. and brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Romaire (Marion) and Ferris Romaire, Jr. (Margaret.) Also, her in-laws, Jared H. and Virginia Bergeron, Jared L. Bergeron (Cathy) and Tom Bergeron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Thursday July 2, 2026 at 1:00pm at St. Margaret Of Scotland Catholic Church. Visitation will begin Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home at 11:00am to 12:30pm. A rosary will be recited at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery, Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude's Research Hospital or St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, Lake Charles.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Villa Maria Retirement Center for their compassion and care toward our mother. Also, Dr. Mir Kahn and Heart of Hospice, Lake Charles. Special thanks to the devoted sitters of Villa Maria for their compassionate care and loving attention.
