Lois Cecilia Lemoine Couvillion, 87, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:07 AM on Monday, May 26, 2025 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Couvillion was born on February 4, 1938 in Plaucheville, LA where she resided until marrying the love of her life, Jim Couvillion, and moving to Lake Charles. In her earlier years, before her family grew, she worked her way up to the manager of the fabric and frame department of Perry’s Five and Dime. Throughout her years of raising her children, she was a beauty consultant for Mary Kay. Mrs. Couvillion was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven where she belonged to the Altar Society.
She was a self-made artist in every sense. A talented seamstress, she transformed fabric into cherished keepsakes, her hands skillfully weaving memories into every hem and stitch. Her garden was a testament to her patience and devotion, blooming season after season under her tender care. Without formal training, she taught herself to paint and was a true crafter at heart.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard Couvillion (Sandy), Rebecca “Becky” Simon (Tim), and Joey Couvillion (Phyllis); sisters, Janice Viverata, Linda Juneau (Ronnie), and Debbie Martin (Paul); sisters-in-law, Nancy Brown and Kellie Couvillion; grandchildren, Reyhana Couvillion (Leslie Doyle), Douglas Couvillion (Lindsey), Chelsea Couvillion, Chris Couvillion (Jennifer), Matt Couvillion (Ashley), Barbie Brown, Courtney Locklin (Matt), and Caleb Couvillion (Sierra), great grandchildren, Chloe, Baylee, Lainee, Camden, Kaiden, Jaziah, Zayden, Kinsley, Mason, Jase, and Jaden; one great great grandchild, Kinsley.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Estine James “Jim” Couvillion; sons, Chuck and Bobby Couvillion; and her parents, Fulton and Dessie Mae Lemoine.
