Lois Marie Ounette
May 22, 1940 — July 15, 2022
Sulphur ~ Lois Marie Drounette, born May 22, 1940, daughter of the late Eddie and Edrie (Brown) Drounette, passed away in a local hospital, Friday, July 15, 2022, at age 82.
Lois was a graduate of Sulphur High School and worked as a massage therapist for many years. Lois enjoyed garage sales, trying new restaurants, playing cards, dancing, spending time with her kids and she was an avid Saints fan.
Survivors are her daughters, Darla Trahan (Patrick), Belinda Key (Roland), Cindy Dowers (Mark), Erica Newman, Angela Stevens (Scott); son, Chris Fruge (Misti); sisters, Patricia Crochet, Donna Theriot; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Mallory Stevens; great-grandson, Jackson Lambert; brothers, Bobby, Larry, Douglas, George and Albert Drounette; sisters, Sheila Kibodeaux, Shirley Francis, Colleen Drounette and Vera Jones.
Funeral services are Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Bro. Gil Broussard, officiant. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The family would like to thank Golden Age of Welsh Nursing Home staff, the physical therapy department and Dr. Kang for all of the care and compassion they showed to our mom.
