Lola Ann DesOrmeaux, 96, of Lake Charles died at 12:30 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mrs. DesOrmeaux was born on August 16, 1914 in Hayes, LA. She was a graduate of Bell City High School before moving to Lake Charles with her husband. Mrs. DesOrmeaux was a bookkeeper for many years for Calcasieu Marine National Bank and Lakeside National Bank. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where she was a past member of the Catholic Daughters.
She enjoyed many things including sewing, gardening, and canning fruits and vegetables.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Otis Joseph "O.J." DesOrmeaux, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Sulphur; a daughter, Theresa Garcille and husband Dan of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Christine LaBove, Karen Garcille-Butler, Deirdre Himel, Pamala Alexander, Celeste DesOrmeaux, Beth LeBlanc, Melanie Broussard, and David DesOrmeaux; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Aurelia McAllister DeRouen; her husband, Otis DesOrmeaux, Sr.; a brother, Everand DeRouen; and a sister, Rubella Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Emanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
