Iowa–Lola Mae Mallett Romero, 88, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
Lola was born in Jennings on October 15, 1927 to the late Prosper and Pearl (Duhon) Mallett. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church; Rosary club of St. John; Catholic Daughters and Bell City Ladies Altar Society.
Left to cherish her memory include her children, Dale Romero, Diane Daigle (Michael), Donnie Romero (Karla), Deidre Daigle (Tommy) and Daniel Romero (Michelle); 10 grandchildren, Nikki, Brandi, Heath, Josh, Aimee, Keira, D. J., Lynze, Triston and Jace; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sister-in-law’s, Regina Mallett and Ester Harrington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Romero; parents; grandsons, Garrett & Quentin Daigle; brother, Edward Mallett and daughter-in-law, Nona Leonard Romero.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Rojo Anthony officiating on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home and will resume Friday from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
