Iowa – Lola White, 80, passed away in a local hospital on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
Born in Merryville, LA on July 10, 1935 to the late Justice and Lena (Jeans) Neely, Lola was a graduate of Merryville High and worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board. She was a member of Westlake United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawna Ponthieux and husband, Joseph Carey; siblings, Glen Neely and wife, Norma, and Justine Barrow and husband, Chester; grandchildren, Darren Heath, Joseph Colby, and Jordyn Ashley Ponthieux, Chase and Jade White, Trent Herring and wife, Jenny; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Renee Ponthieux, Harper Gayle White and Isabelle Herring. Preceding her in death were her husband, Billy Joe White; son, Todd Ray White and sister, Jean Huse.
Visitation is Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services are Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Elsye Mae Sonnier officiating in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery of Westlake.
