She enjoyed every opportunity to go fishing for white perch and bass at she and her husband’s camp in Toledo Bend. As well as many years of cheering on the McNeese Cowboys at the home stadium from their season seats. Her down time was often spent watching the Price Is Right and Days of Our Lives. Mrs. Fontenot was a lady of faith, attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she was a volunteer for the church and the carnival. She will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her special relationship with her granddaughters and much-loved visits with her great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Tyla John Fontenot of Lake Charles; two granddaughters, Kati Wood Joiner and husband Kenneth Tyler Joiner and Madison Leiann Hebert and husband Richard Trey Hebert, all of Montevallo, AL and three great-grandchildren, Emalie Lind Joiner, Harper Leiann Joiner and Oakley Lynn Joiner.
