Loria C Hess

Loria Hess, 61, passed away on September 21, 2026, surrounded by her family. Loria was born on October 10, 1964, and has spent a lifetime rooted in Sulphur, Louisiana, where strong community ties and family values have always been central.

From a young age, Loria developed a strong work ethic, beginning work with JerRees at just 16 years old. That dedication continued on and off through the years, with a long‑term commitment resuming in 2005, where Loria continued to work until her death.

Deeply committed to connecting with others, Loria has long enjoyed building relationships within the community, notably through selling Tupperware and previously Thirty‑One, using those opportunities to bring people together beyond business alone.

Family has always been at the heart of Loria’s life. She has been married to Daniel Hess since June 12, 1982.

Loria devoted years to homeschooling their two children from fifth grade through high school graduation—a commitment that reflects patience, perseverance, and a deep belief in nurturing growth at home. Loria is the proud parent of Daniel Hess Jr. and Ashley Hess Vincent, and a loving parent‑in‑law to Heather Page Hess and Chris Vincent.

One of Loria’s greatest joys is being a grandparent to Nathan Hess and Conley Hess. Time spent together, especially watching them play Buddy Ball, is treasured and brings immense pride and happiness. She also loved spending time with her grand-pup Bear while she stayed in her daughter and son in law’s home during her care in her last year.

Faith has been a guiding force throughout Loria’s life. Since 1997, Loria has been a devoted member of Victory Worship Center, where faith, worship, and service have remained steady anchors. A deep commitment to the Lord shapes how Loria lives, loves, and serves others, providing strength during both joyful seasons and life’s most difficult challenges. Through prayer, trust, and unwavering belief, Loria’s faith has been a source of peace and courage, especially during ongoing health journeys, and continues to inspire those who witness that steadfast walk with God.

In 2021, Loria was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer and courageously completed treatment in 2023. Throughout that journey, Loria showed extraordinary strength and resilience, earning the admiration of all who walked alongside.

In 2023, Loria also became an active member of the Sulphur Sunrise Rotary Club, continuing a lifelong commitment to service and community involvement.

In December 2025, Loria began a new and challenging chapter after being diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the colon. She fought long and hard to beat this cancer but in the end she received full healing through Jesus as he welcomed her into her now forever home in heaven.

Through every season of life—work, family, service, and health—Loria Hess remained a steady, inspiring presence, known for resilience, generosity, and an unwavering love for family and community.

Services for Loria will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 1 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur with Reverend Larry LaFleur officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 11 AM until the time of service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.
