LouAlice Edmaiston
Iowa – LouAlice Edmaiston, born in Sulphur on February 1, 1941, daughter of the late Harry and Azalie (Richard) Thibodeaux, passed away August 12, 2021, at the age of 80.
LouAlice graduated from McNeese State University with a master’s in special education and taught for 35 years for the Calcasieu Parish School Board. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LeBleu and sang in the choir. She enjoyed making all sorts of crafts for everyone, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jessie Thibodeaux; sisters, Bernetta Thibodeaux; Mary Ardoin, and Lena Mae O’Quain.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob Edmaiston; daughter, Ginger Begnaud (Keith); Bobby Edmaiston, Jr. (Carmen); Ted Edmaiston (Cathy); 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Harrington (Ron); brother, Joseph Thibodeaux (Nadine), and Horace Thibodeaux (Berna); numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of immediate family was held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. A rosary was recited at 11:45 a.m., by her nephew, James Dupre and services followed with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial was in LeBleu Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Pallbearers assisting in her service were her grandsons, Joe Begnaud, Jr.; Ted “Bubba” Edmaiston, Jr.; Ty Edmaiston; Bobby Edmaiston, III; Derick Walters; Matt Lopez.
