Iowa – Louis Abshire, 85, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on August 12, 2016.
Louis was born in Kaplan on November 8, 1930 to the late William and Eliza Abshire. He was employed with Farmers Land & Canal Co for 40 years. Louis enjoyed hunting and spending time with family.
Survivors include his children, Daniel Abshire (Karen) of Moss Bluff, Randall and Donald Abshire of Iowa, Marie Abshire of Lake Charles; brother, Millard Breaux of Iowa; sisters, Annie Fontenot (Burley) and Gertie Lapoint, Mary Young (Kent) all of Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rosalie Duplechin Abshire.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral with Father Dismas Mauk officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, August 15, 2016 Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
