Louise Hebert Fontenot

Iowa ~ Louise Hebert Fontenot, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 in her residence, at the age of 83.

Louise was born on December 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Weber Joseph Hebert and Zoe Fontenot.

Louise or Aunt Louise to so many, was a lifelong resident of Iowa. She served as president of the St. Raphael Catholic Ladies Altar Society for 14 years. Louise was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing and visiting with family and friends. Louise was a mother to all she came in contact with and her loving nature will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her daughters, Roxanne Camara (Shawn), Raynell Ingold (Jack); sons, Weber Fontenot and John Fontenot (Susie Beasley); brother, Jerry Hebert (Sandra); step-son, Ray Henry “Tootie” Fontenot, Jr. (Helen); sisters-in-law, Nelda Hebert and Sharon Hebert; companion, R. J. Dugas; grandchildren, Connie Chapman (John), Derek Fontenot, Cheryl Quiles, Carrie Burch (Jonathan), Chris Ingold (Shephali), Kimberly Diaz (Patrick), Michael Camara, John Ingold, Scott Ingold (Haley), Dane Camara and Grant Camara; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ray Henry “Sonny” Fontenot, Sr.; siblings, Otis Hebert, Anna Nell Barnabus, Bill Hebert and John Hebert.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church of Iowa on Monday, August 27, 2018. Fathers Blake Dubroc and Bennie Wego will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will resume Monday from 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Pallbearers assisting in her service are Chris, John and Scott Ingold, Michael, Dane and Grant Camara, John Chapman and Jonathan Burch.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Heart of Hospice and special thanks to Tana White, Dr. Michael Seep, Dr. Michael Broussard and Dr, James Maze for all the support in her final days.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
