Lowell Lanier, 82 years young, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Queen Creek, Arizona after a brief illness.
Lowell graduated from Marion High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and later graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He retired from Boeing Aircraft in 1993.
Lowell was ordained as a deacon in 1963 at Rice Memorial Baptist Church in Massachusetts and lived faithfully for Christ throughout his life.
He loved spending time with family and friends enjoying skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and living life fully.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, W. Faye Lanier; four children, Glenda Gross and Stephen Lanier both of Queen Creek, Arizona, Richard Lanier of Hazelwood, Missouri, and Sarah Hyatt of Maricopa, Arizona; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren (one preceding him in death). Lowell also leaves three brothers, four sisters (two preceding him in death) and his late parents, Mac and Iva Lanier, as well as loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery in Dry Creek, Louisiana. Visitation will begin on Friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
