Iowa-Loyce Holmes Elmore, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in her residence.
Born on May 1, 1938 in Lambert, Mississippi, Loyce was the daughter of the late Harvey Mason and Willie Mae (Bailey) Holmes. She was a graduate of Shelby High in Shelby, Mississippi and worked as a bank teller. Loyce was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church.
Her survivors are her daughters, Sally Anne Elmore Mhire, Eva Elmore Landry, Wilma Elmore Kemp and Lilly Elmore Piazza; sons, Richard Linn and Will Ballard; brother, Milton Harvey Holmes and sister, Janie Foley. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Loyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William F. Elmore, son, Bob Ballard, son-in-law, Horace Mhire, brother, John Holmes and sisters, Faye Ellis, Eloise Moore, Avis Linn and Yvonne Shattles.
Funeral services are Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Weishampel officiating. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
