Welsh – Lucas Wayne Thibeaux, 74, passed away Sunday, January 03, 2016 in Lafayette General Hospital.
Lucas was born in Lake Charles October 13, 1941 to the late Dalton and Angel Breaux Thibeaux. He was of the Catholic faith and made the Cursillo #109 and was employed by Zapata Drilling as a crane operator. Lucas loved camping with his family and friends and always kept a fire going!
He is survived by his wife Vernita Doucet Thibeaux of Welsh; children, Lucas Dwayne Thibeaux (Tracie) of Houma, Joseph Golden Lynn Thibeaux of Moss Bluff, Dalton Joseph Thibeaux of Lake Charles, Chad Anthony Thibeaux (Stephanie) of Bell City, Bridget Rachelle Courmier (Shane) of Moss Bluff, Jason Paul Thibeaux of Lake Charles and Shawn Dale Thibeaux (Stacy) of Hayes; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Henrietta Hebert of Lake Charles. Lucas is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Zachary Thibeaux, Barbara Derouen and Heidi Faye Nevils.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and continues Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
