Lucille Morrow Cormier,, 83, was called to be with the Lord on April 25, 2026, surrounded by loved ones with her favorite song playing in the background. Her faith in Christ guided her every step of the way. She was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and her family. She used her faith to guide her life as well as set an example for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lucille was born on November 2, 1942 in Sulphur, Louisiana to Azalee and Willis Morrow. She was especially proud of her Cajun culture and loved teaching others about it. Her devotion to being the best mother she could be carried over to her grandchildren. She was happiest when all of her family was with her. She loved teaching them all of her favorite hobbies. From teaching them how to sew, to making sure they knew the proper way to make a P.B. & J was to mix the peanut butter and jelly together before putting it on the bread, being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was where she knew she belonged. Making others happy is what made her happy. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed fishing and crabbing in the waters of Louisiana. Sewing, quilting, crocheting, and reading were her favorite ways to unwind and relax. She was an amazing quilter and self-proclaimed seamstress. While her heart and soul were in Louisiana, she always dreamed of traveling. She was able to travel to places like Wyoming, Texas, Florida, New Mexico, Iowa, Michigan, Canada, and even Puerto Rico, while living in Louisiana. She did live in Arizona for a few years but returned home as soon as she could. Her dream of traveling really came true the last 8 years ago after moving to Arkansas to be with her daughter, Evette. She loved knowing that there would always be a new adventure waiting for her. Some of these adventures were visiting Hawaii with her daughter, son-in-law, and great granddaughter, traveling to New York to see her grandson and his family, spending weekends and holidays with her granddaughter and great grandchildren in Arkansas, and going to Texas to see her daughter, Gail and her grandchildren and great grandchildren as much as possibly could. Lucille is preceded in death by her mother, Azalee Morrow and her father, Willis Morrow; husband, Boyce lane Cormier; son, Waylon Cormier; granddaughter, Azalee Chantel Martin; sisters, Lena O'Quinn, Pearl Lanning, and Doris Watson; brothers, Tanja Dupree and Willie O'Quinn. Those left to cherish her memory are her beautiful daughters, Evette Tull (John Tull), and Gail Heacock (Tony Heacock), 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her church family of Mars Hill Baptist Church, as well as countless friends and people she loved as family. Funeral services for Lucille will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. The family will receive guest on Thursday from 9 until time of the service. Interment will be held at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss after her service under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.
