Lynn Benita Koonce

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Benita Koonce, who left us peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on June 5, 1935, in Orange, Texas, Lynn spent her life in DeQuincy, Louisiana, where she built a loving family and a warm community around her.

She was a devout christian, and loved sharing her faith and her testimony. She spent 30 years working at Calcasieu Cameron Hospital caring for people, and just being a friend.

Throughout her journey Lynn engaged in several hobbies and life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed quilting, over the years she made hundreds of quilts for family and friends. She was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed sharing her music. She also was an accomplished painter/artist and could make a canvas come to life with her talent. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Lynn's life will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Christian Life Church in Vinton,LA., located at 1805 West Street. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until the time of the service.
