Lythia Myrtle Berglund

Lythia Myrtle Berglund, 92, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 4:30 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Berglund was born July 18, 1925 in Welsh, LA and raised in Gueydan, LA, where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she met and married the love of her life and moved to Lake Charles. She graduated from Sowela Technical School with her degree in nursing and worked at Moss Regional Hospital, St. Martin de Porres and retired from St. Patrick Hospital. Mrs. Berglund was a past member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and was a member at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and will be remembered for her sweet and funny personality.

Mrs. Berglund is survived by her daughter, Charlene O’Malley and husband, Albert Francis O’Malley, III; and grandchildren, Albert Francis O’Malley IV, Mike Berglund and Steve Berglund(Deline).

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Nels Henry Berglund; parents, John Bastiste and Camie Fuselier; and her son, Ronald Berglund.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
