Macil Hooper Lejeune

Macile Hooper LeJeune, 80, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 in a local hospital.

 

Mrs. LeJeune was a native of Lake Charles, lived 57 years in Sulphur, and the past 6 years in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of St. Charles Academy. As a published Author of cookbooks and family history, Mrs. LeJeune also enjoyed creating greeting cards for her business, Cajun Country Cards. Her passion was speaking as an advocate for her Cajun/American Indian heritage. Her kind nature led her to care for her mother, aunts and those that she loved in their time of need. Mrs. LeJeune was of lady of faith and will be remembered, always, as the “epitome of unconditional love”.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Harry Lee LeJeune of Sulphur; four children, Ricki LeJeune and wife Trudy of Sulphur, Faye LeJeune of Lake Charles, Teri Mays and husband Jack of Sulphur and Michael LeJeune and wife Rachel of Monticello, IL; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one brother, Lloyd Hooper of Vacaville, CA.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold H. and Levia Granger Hooper; sister, Juanita Walker and brother, Homer Hooper.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Interment will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Gathering of friends and family Wednesday will be from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.
