Also surviving is her brother, Rev. Mid Burnett and wife Beulah (Areno) of DeQuincy, and many nieces and nephews.
Mamie was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of DeRidder and enjoyed several hobbies, particularly ceramics, quilting, raising calves, growing vegetables and flower gardening. Her first love, however, was caring for children. In addition to raising 10 of her own, she owned, operated, and worked at Mother Goose Nursery in DeRidder for over 15 years. After "retiring," she subsequently cared for several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren in her home.
