Marcus Jerome Granger

Marcus Jerome Granger, 59, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 5:32 AM on Monday, May 25, 2020 in a New Orleans hospital.

Mr. Granger was born October 24, 1960 in Kinder, LA and was a 1979 graduate of Westlake High School.  He worked as a pipefitter for a number of years and later at Wal-Mart in the automotive department, retiring four years ago.  He will be remembered for his corny jokes and his gift of gab.  He loved meeting new friends and never met a stranger.

Mr. Granger is survived by his daughter, Bethany Murphy and husband Ricky of Lake Charles; sisters, Becke Bromley and husband Bill and Shari Granger and husband Gerard Louviere; brother, Stewart Granger and wife Anna; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Granger; parents, Gordon and Merline Granger; and grandparents, Noah and Mersie Reed and Raymond and Jesse Granger.

His memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the First Church of the Nazarene.  His cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
