Margaret Graham Williams Wolgemuth, 95, died peacefully Friday afternoon at home in the loving presence of her family in Lake Charles, Louisiana after a lengthy battle with dementia. Margaret was born on January 10, 1922 in Vernon Parish, Leesville area to her parents, Agustus Clem Williams and Mary Augustus Graham Williams.
Margaret graduated from Anacoco High School and graduated from Louisiana Normal College (NSU) in Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1942 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Margaret taught typing following graduation and later worked in the Civil service Department at Fort Polk Hospital during WWII where she met and married her late husband Dr. Ted Wolgemuth, DDS and Captain in the United States Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana during WWII.
Margaret became a loving wife and homemaker and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Leesville, Louisiana. Margaret and Ted later moved to Monroe, Louisiana for several years to be closer to their daughter and made many memories. Margaret and Ted belonged to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA. In 2016, Margaret and her loving daughter and son-in-law brought her back home to be with family in the Lake Charles Leesville.

Margaret is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Margaret Eddleman Docherty and her loving son-in-law Christopher Michael Docherty of Lake Charles, Louisiana and her two grandsons, Deven Graham Eddleman of St. Petersburg Florida and Alexander James Docherty of Tyler, Texas and her loving faithful cat “Spooky” Wolgemuth. Margaret is also survived by her sister in law Lulu Wolgemuth of Joliet Illinois, her loving nieces and nephews: Donna Mims Guidroz Cespiva and Wayne Cespiva of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Charles and Sandy Mims of Athens, Georgia, Jim and Penny Williams of Leesville, Louisiana and Pat and Donna of Leesville, Louisiana, Susan and Bobby Pasdertz of Joliet, Illinois, Ed and Diane Wolgemuth of Orland Park, Illinois and many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Theodore John Wolgemuth; her parents Augustus Williams and Mary Agusta Williams of Anacoco, Louisiana; her brother James E. “Buddy” Williams of Anacoco, Louisiana and her sister Alma Maud Williams Mims of Athens, Georgia.

Funeral Services for Margaret are being held at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, Louisiana by Reverend John Robert Black of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church at 10:00AM on Monday, May 15. 2017. Immediately following the service the burial will be in Leesville, Louisiana at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The United Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston, Louisiana.
