Margaret "Peggy" Vinson

Margaret "Peggy" Irene Vinson, 83, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026. She was born in Tulsa, grew up in Dallas, and resided in Lake Charles for the past 60+ years. She was the owner of Peggy Vinson Real Estate and a Christian Marriage Counselor. She was awarded Realtor of the Year in 1975. She was a past President of the Board for Boy's Village.

She enjoyed leading people to Jesus, cooking meals, and creating fabulous desserts. Her chicken noodle soup could heal any ailment and her white chocolate bread pudding was a most requested favorite.

Those left to cherish her memory include: her sister Patricia Davies and husband Fred; her children: David Fontana and wife Tijie, Wendi Vinson, Mari-Scott Conrad, Staci Bruchhaus and husband David, Max Vinson and wife Erica, Christy Lyons and husband Michael, Scottie Vinson Jr., Terry Vinson, Sandy Vinson and wife Jenny. She had 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Scottie Max Vinson Sr., her parents Gladys and Jerome Gales, her brothers Leo and Jeffery Gales; nephews Jim and Michael Gales, and Kevin Davies.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sage Oak Advanced Memory Care (House 4), Amedisys Home Health Care, and The Garden's Assisted Living for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Christian Academy, St. Louis Catholic School, or any charity of your choice. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Private family service and burial will take place at a later time.
