Margie Carmen Grace King, born in Camden, Arkansas on October 27, 1929, daughter, of the late James H. and Lola Lillian (Justice) Harren, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the age of 93.
Margie, along with her late husband, Joe Mon, owned and operated Shanghai Inn in Lake Charles. She enjoyed working puzzles, reading, and going on rides with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mon King; daughters, Marigold Ford and Margaret King; siblings, Evelyn M. Harren, Mary E. Harren, Elsie J. Harren, Eloise J. Harren, and Hugh Hardy Harren.
Ms. King is survived by her children, Doris Deville (Michael) of DeQuincy, Mary Jean Roark, of Houston, Danny King (Wendy) of Georgetown, Texas, Mitchell King (Sue) of Houston, Texas, Thomas King of Lake Charles, and Steven King (Maria) of Baltimore, Maryland; son-in-law, Jim Ford of Houston, Texas; 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Cremation will follow the gathering under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
