Marguerite “Dodi” Garland, 68, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at a local hospice facility with family members by her side. Dodi was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She graduated from Marion High School and worked as a lab analyst at PPG Industries.
She was born on July 17, 1956, in Lake Charles, LA. to the late Phillip Runnels and Juanita Babineaux. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ray Garland, daughter, Danielle Babineaux; granddaughters, Alyxzandria Sarver, Qamrhan Sarver, and DyLynn Sarver of Spring, TX; seven sisters, Marie Beloney of Bentonville AR., Stacy Runnels, Yvette (Esay) Douglas, Kakki Love, and Belinda Runnels-Frazier of Houston, TX, Anita Simpson of Denver Co., Jessie (Yuan) Campbell of Dallas, Tx, Joan (Darold) Chavis and Emery (Courtney) Babineaux of Lake Charles, LA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Issac and Eunice Campbell, aunts Margariet Campbell, Addie Cox, and uncle, Issac Campbell, II.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
She will always be remembered for leaving her mark in this world by writing, “Dodi was Here”.
