Margurite “Peggy” Holston, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Born in Leesville, LA, to Maudie Williams and Clyde Lenton Hennigan, she moved to Lake Charles at the age of 15 in 1943 and later graduated from Vincent Business School.
In 1973, Peggy founded Lifecare Emergency Medical Services, the first private ambulance service in the parish, and played a pivotal role in bringing 911 services to the area. A true embodiment of grace, she was not only a model and beauty queen but also worked as a Charles of the Ritz girl at Mullers, sharing her passion for makeup. Peggy was a devoted Christian and a prayer warrior, deeply committed to her community.
She cherished her family and is survived by her daughter, Dianne Marie Hinch; grandchildren Sarah Dianne Fisk, Ashley Lynn Fisk, Ann Margurite Fisk, Derek Watson Hinch, and Shane Hinch; three great-grandchildren; numerous siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John E. Holston, Sr.; son, Barton Alan Fisk; first husband, Ivan Fisk; son-in-law, Craig Hinch; siblings
Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and will resume on Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
