Maria Jo Pellegran, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2026, at her home in Iowa, Louisiana. She was born on December 14, 1967, in Mays Landing, New Jersey, to a loving family that would nurture her vibrant spirit throughout her life.
Maria was a notable baker, owning and operating her cherished bakery, Treats & Treasures by Maria, where she poured her heart and creativity into every delightful treat she crafted. Known for her warm-hearted hospitality, Maria cherished hosting holiday events that brought family and friends together, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
She graduated from Oak Crest High School in New Jersey and was married to her devoted husband, Benji Pellegran, in 2004, sharing a deep bond that weathered the tests of time. Together, they built a family that Maria tirelessly nurtured, including her children, Roseann "Nikki" Mazur, John Robbins, Jr., Christopher Robbins (Alisha), Carrie Robbins, and Jeremiah Robbins; step-son, Tanner Fontenot. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jakobe Carter (Keyana Davis), A'lannah Thibodeaux, Aleah Burnette, Abbie Richard, and great-grandchildren Kairi Carter and Kayos Thibodeaux.
Maria had many passions, from painting and attending concerts to traveling and enjoying the music of her favorite artist, Ozzy Osbourne. Her love extended not only to her family but also to her beloved pets, Happy Jack, Jake, and Kuyon, who filled her days with joy.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her siblings: Theresa Mazur (John Webb), Jimmy Mazur (Vickie), David Mazur (Marsha), and Michael Mazur (Ginger). Each of them will forever hold a piece of her heart.
Maria's life will be celebrated with a visitation at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 3 PM until 5 PM, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects. Cremation will follow the visitation.
As we remember Maria, we invite everyone who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her extraordinary life, the love she shared, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her spirit will always be cherished in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Mario Mastrianni and Margarite Mazur; her siblings, Margie Clark and Jimmy Clark.
