Marie Lavergne Guillory

March 14, 1942 — April 8, 2026

Marie Lavergne Guillory, lovingly known to many—especially her grandchildren—as “Granny Poo,” was a woman whose life was filled with love, joy, and cherished moments with family. She passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 84. During her lifetime, she was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Granny Poo had a special gift for making memories. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her grandchildren—whether sewing beautiful outfits and Halloween costumes, cooking meals filled with love like donuts and sugar popcorn, or simply enjoying their presence. She would take them to the dollar store to get snacks before going to the movies and tuck them into her bag to sneak inside. Her home and heart were always open, creating a space where laughter and love lived abundantly. She also had a special tradition of giving all of her grandsons their first haircut. To her grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother—she was their safe place. She was the one they ran to for advice, a listening ear, or even a little backup when they were trying to win their case with their parents. Granny Poo always welcomed them with love, understanding, and just the right amount of wisdom.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and embraced every opportunity for fun and fellowship. Granny Poo loved going on cruises, always excited to explore new places and create new memories. She was often planning her next trip, with a spirit that never stopped seeking adventure. She also loved staying connected with family and friends—whether talking on her cellphone for hours or sharing moments of her life on Facebook. She found joy in simple pleasures—playing bean bag, pity pat card games, and bingo—always bringing warmth and laughter wherever she was.

Above all, Granny Poo loved her family deeply. Spending time with those she loved most brought her the greatest happiness. Her legacy is one of love, care, and unforgettable moments that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
