Marilyn Ducote Meaux, 52, passed away on March 9, 2017 at a local hospital.
She was born in New Iberia, LA but grew up in Lake Charles. She is a Class of 1982 graduate of Barbe High School. While at Barbe she had many accomplishments, becoming Miss Barbe, Homecoming Queen, head cheerleader, Interact Queen, and “Best All-Around”. Marilyn was a devout Christian. She was a bright, quick witted woman with an excellent sense of humor. She was talented and accomplished in drawing, painting, interior decorating, artisan jewelry, and gardening; but her treasured role was as mother to her seven children and wife to William.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William Meaux; seven children, William Bradley Meaux (Haley), Jacob Tyler Meaux (Katie and son Mickey Rivers), Jon Avery Meaux, Graceanne Elizabeth Meaux, Daniel Miles Meaux, Emma Rae Meaux, and Ethan Tate Meaux; mother, Donna Rae Ducote; father-in-law, Azarie Felix Meaux Sr. (Janice); two sisters, Denise Morgan (Pat), and Paula Eapen (Georgie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her father, Lionel Ducote; brother, Mark Ducote; and mother-in-law, Mary Emma Lewis Meaux.
A memorial service will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 5PM. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Sunday from 2PM until the start of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
