Marilyn Kay Landreneau

Marilyn Kay Landreneau, 73, of Moss Bluff passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 in a local hospital.

She was born on February 17, 1953, in Jena, Louisiana. During her childhood, her family moved frequently due to her father's career, eventually settling in Eunice, where she attended middle and high school. In 1980, she made her home in Moss Bluff, Louisiana, where she lovingly raised her family.

Mrs. Landreneau was a faithful member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing, camping, and playing golf. She was known for her warm spirit and her love of cooking delicious dishes.

Above all, she was a devoted grandmother. She was her grandchildren's biggest and most dedicated fan, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on at the ball field. She was always willing to make special and cherished memories with them.

Those left to cherish her memory are her long time sweetheart and loving husband, of 55 years, Newton Landreneau; daughters, Tina Benoit (Mike) and Michelle "Meme" Trahan (Jason); her beloved grandchildren, Katelyn Diamond (Clark), Peyton Benoit, Gage Trahan, and Cole Trahan; and special great grandchildren, Madelyn Benoit and Miller Diamond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvie and Marie Long and a sister, Patricia Bergeaux.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel of Moss Bluff. Father Charles McMillin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
