Marion R. Corkran Moss

Marion R. Corkran Moss, 70, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Moss was born in Lake Charles on December 18, 1946 to Geraldine and Robert Corkran, Sr. She was a 1964 graduate of Lake Charles High School and went on to study at McNeese State University where she earned multiple degrees. While at McNeese, at the B.S.U., she was introduced to the love of her life, James “Jim” Moss. She also worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years at Cal-Cam Hospital before retiring in 2006.

Left to cherish Mrs. Moss’ memory is her son, Michael Moss; sister, Ruth Thompson (Ben); brother, Robert Corkran (Brenda); and grandson, Alexander “Alex” Moss.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Jim Moss; her brother, Sidney Corkran; her niece, Melissa Corkran; as well as her parents.

Mrs. Moss’ funeral service will be on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend David Dewitt will officiate. Burial will be in Sallier Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
