FULL OBITUARY PENDING:

Marjorie Ann Prudhomme Nelands, 85, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 in a local healthcare and rehabilitation facility.

Mrs. Nelands was born September 26, 1940 to Joseph Lawrence Prudhomme, Jr. and Edna Posey Prudhomme in Winnefield, LA.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Mark W. Nelands and wife Karen of Hayes; two daughters, Denise Ann Huval and husband Huey of Kennesaw, GA and Deborah Kay Andrus and husband George of Sulphur; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and two on the way; one sister, Carrie Sue Benard of Texas and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus L Nelands; her son, Steven L. Nelands; brothers, Joseph Lawrence Prudhomme, III and Frank Prudhomme and her parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 19, 2026 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Monsignor Harry Greig and Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Interment services will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Ladies Auxilary service beginning at 5:45 PM followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation Thursday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
