It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Van Johnson, who left this world on September 30, 2025, at the age of 65. Born in Sulphur, Louisiana, on October 21, 1959, Mark was a devoted son, father, grandfather, and friend known for his big heart and even bigger passions.Mark lived a full life brimming with adventure and enthusiasm. He was a proud boy scout, a love for the outdoors that led him to fishing and hunting, often sharing those joyous moments with family and friends. Whether he was boating in the bayou or building rockets that defied gravity, Mark had a creative spirit that inspired those around him.A lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers, Mark could always be found cheering on his teams with unrivaled fervor. His love for NASA and science fiction brought a sprinkle of magic to his everyday life, often sparking lively conversations and imagination.Mark was also deeply faithful to his church, finding community and solace within its walls. Above all, he cherished his family, holding close his daughters Trisha Ravia, Chelsea Brooks, Emily Johnson, and Katelyn Johnson. He was a loving grandfather to Alexandra, Annalise, Aidan, Cecilia, Owen, Asher, and Sonny as well as a proud great-grandfather to Bryson.Mark will be remembered not just for his interests, but for his unwavering love and dedication to those he held dear. A public viewing will be held on October 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Mark will be laid to rest at Mimosa Pine South cemetery.We invite all who knew and loved Mark to join us in celebrating his incredible life and the lasting impact he had on each of us.
