Mark Kevin Pearce

Mark Kevin Pearce, 52, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

Mark was born February 29, 1964 in Lake Charles, LA, where he lived all of his life. He graduated from Barbe High School in 1984 and attended McNeese State University. He worked as a Journeyman Welder for most of his life and was a member of the Boilermaker Union Local #79. Most will remember Mark as a storyteller reminiscing the past often in a hilarious way. He was also the owner / operator of Pearce Marine. Most recently, he enjoyed mowing yards and visiting with his customers. Mark was an avid fisherman, enjoyed spending time outdoors, crabbing and shrimping. He was a perfectionist who enjoyed welding and fabricating his own things, from bumpers to utility trailers. His true love in life was for his son, “Possum”.

Mark is survived by his son, Devin Pearce; mother, Gabrielle “Dee Dee” Pearce of Lake Charles; brother, John Wylie Pearce and wife Julie of Lake Charles; best friend, Ms. Pam Hollingsworth; and the mother of his son, Della Doucet.

He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Pearce, Jr.; nephew, Forrest Lane Pearce; and grandparents, Mawmaw and Pawpaw Pearce and Mawmaw and Pawpaw Landry.

His memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Mark Stagg will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 until the start of the service.
