It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Anthony Khoury, who left us on July 9, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on September 27, 1955, in Sulphur, Louisiana, Mark was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend whose laughter and warmth touched everyone he met. Mark graduated from Sulphur High School in 1974 and soon embarked on a four-year apprenticeship with the Plumber and Steamfitters Local 106. He dedicated over 40 years of his life to the industrial field as a skilled pipefitter, finally retiring in 2017. Even after hanging up his tools, he never lost his passion for staying fit and active, often seen on the court playing basketball as part of the Ward 4 recreation Men's league. His love for the game mirrored his zest for life-full of energy and a sense of humor that could light up any room. An active member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Sulphur, Mark was deeply rooted in his community and cherished the connections he made there. He will be remembered not just for his work but for his ability to make others laugh and his relentless spirit in nurturing relationships with family and friends.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia "Cyndi" Khoury; his daughter, Michelle Renee Khoury Lavergne, and her husband Joe; brother Michael Mack Khoury of Irvine, California; brother-in-law Robert Cooper and wife Angie; sister-in-law Brenda Woodward Cooper; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Yvonne Khoury; mother-in-law, Loretta Bressette; grandparents, Mack and Emily John; sister-in-law, Charlotte Cooper; and brother-in-law, Randy Cooper.
