It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark James Quebodeaux, who left this world on August 7, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on February 14, 1961, in Sulphur, LA, Mark was a true fixture in the community, known for his contagious smile and warm spirit. From a young age, Mark was deeply involved in sports and found great joy as an umpire and official, dedicating his time to ASA and college level sports. His passion for community engagement allowed him to touch the lives of countless individuals, and there truly wasn't a place where someone didn't know him-or at least know of him. Mark was an adventurous soul, always up for a challenge. He cherished working on puzzles and building model cars, and he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. A jack-of-all-trades, he even spent some years as a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, where his compassion for all walks of life shone brightly. As the family photographer, Mark was often behind the camera, capturing memorable moments with his loved ones. His heart was big, and he left an indelible mark on the lives of those around him. Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Libby Quebodeaux; children Brent (and wife Bayleigh), Zach, Candace, and Kayla; brother Matt (and wife Shelley); his three beloved grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Rose Quebodeaux. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Hospice and all the staff involved in Mark's care, including those at Ochsner (Christus), whose kindness made a difficult time a little easier. A memorial service celebrating Mark's life will be held on August 11, 2026, at 2 PM at Johnson Funeral Home in Sulphur. The family will welcome friends and family beginning at 12 PM, prior to the service. In the spirit of Mark's memory, we invite everyone to share words of comfort and reminisce about the impact he had on our lives at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net. Rest in peace, Mark. Your laughter, your love, and your spirit will forever be cherished.
