Mark Wayne Peet, Sr., 69, of Lacassine, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and children. Mark was born November 9, 1954, in Lake Charles, LA. to Emerson and Evelyn Peet and was a lifelong resident of the Southwest Louisiana area. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and later worked for Calgon Carbon Corporation as a Senior Technical Sales Representative.
Mark was one of the kindest, most joyful people you could ever meet. His favorite place was Toledo Bend, but he was always happiest when surrounded by those he loved – no matter the location. Mark enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and watching the birds from his back porch. He never met a stranger and could make anyone feel welcome. Mark was the best husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. His unwavering love for his family and his steadfast faith in the Lord defined his life and will leave an unforgettable impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, DeAnn Peet. Cherishing his memory are his children: Staci Boudreaux and husband Howard of Carencro, LA; Mark “Marcus” Peet, Jr. of Nashville, TN; Lauren Jackson and husband Justin of Bridge City, TX; Matthew Peet and wife Briana of Shreveport, LA; and Libby Bush and husband Micheal of Lacassine, LA. Mark will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Evan Jackson, Easton Jackson, Madilyn Boudreaux, Logan Boudreaux, Adalynn Peet, and Emerson Peet. He is also survived by his brothers, Norman Peet and wife Bertha of Moss Bluff, LA, and Daniel Peet and wife Georgia of South Carolina; sisters Amy Reynolds of Moss Bluff, LA, and JoAnn Simon and husband Robert of Lake Charles, LA; as well as sisters-in-law Donna Peet of Moss Bluff, Ruby Peet of Magnolia, TX, and Ilsa Peet of Puerto Rico.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Emerson and Evelyn Blanchette Peet, brothers Emerson “Buck” Peet, Jr., Allan Peet, and Keith Peet, sister Eula George, and brothers-in-law Jack Reynolds and Bob George.
Visitation for Mark will be Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Visitation will continue at Johnson’s on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 9:00AM until the funeral service at 10:00AM. Burial will follow services at Lacassine Catholic Cemetery in Lacassine.
