Lake Charles – Marshall John Menard, Sr., 87, passed away in a local hospital on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
Mr. Menard was born in Cankton, LA on August 16, 1929 to the late Belizier and Deniage (Dugas) Menard. He was a self-employed roofer and enjoyed playing bingo, pool and French music. His other interests included gardening and living off the land.
He is survived by his sons, Terrell Jean Menard, Sr., Mark Menard, Marshall Menard, Jr. and wife, Vickie, Curtis Wayne Menard and wife, Paula; daughters, Margaret Trahan and husband, Randy, Dianne Butts and Pamela Marie Menard; siblings, Phil Menard, Delton Menard, Dean Trahan and husband, Denrey and Sherilyn Cormier and husband, Sidney; companion of 10 years, Murlene Myers; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores Trahan Menard; daughter-in-law, Patti Menard; son-in-law, Bobby Butts; siblings, Cedric Menard, Goldman Menard, Merley Forrestier and Doris LeBlanc.
Visitation is Friday, September 30, 2016 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. and memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
